Norman De Jong December 5, 1935 - February 22, 2022

Dr. Norman De Jong, age 86, of Crete, IL, went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Beloved husband of Wilma De Jong, nee Vande Guchte. Loving father of Gregory (Kathy) De Jong, Rev. Brian (DeLou) De Jong, and Amy (Steve) Kamp. Cherished grandfather of 13; great-grandfather of 10. Dear brother of Dorothy (late Harvey) Breems, Lorraine (late Gary) VanLaar, Lester (Linda) De Jong, late Nelson (Gertrude) De Jong, and the late Russel (late Rosemary) De Jong; brother-in-law of Peter (Judith) Vande Guchte and the late Marten (late Elizabeth) Vande Guchte. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Smits Funeral Home, 2121 Pleasant Springs Lane, Dyer, IN with services conducted by Rev. Lane B. Keister. Interment Friday, March 4, 2022 at Valley View Cemetery – Rock Valley, IA with a reception following at Porter Funeral Home.
