Charles Spurgeon: The Boy Who Would Become the "Prince of Preachers"

Charles Spurgeon is remembered as one of the greatest preachers in Christian history—but he began as an ordinary country boy. As a young man, he came to trust Christ alone for salvation, and from then on, he spent his life pointing others to the Savior he loved.

In this engaging biography, readers will discover how God used Spurgeon’s powerful preaching to reach thousands. They’ll learn how he trained future pastors, started orphanages, and stood boldly for the truth when others questioned the Bible’s teachings.

With colorful illustrations, fascinating facts, and a compelling story, this book introduces kids to a faithful British preacher whose words still inspire the world today!

Endorsements

“How Charles Spurgeon loved his Lord and Savior! Ever since, as a teenage boy, he was converted and baptized, he became an earnest follower and proclaimer of Jesus Christ. Through all his life, he never lost his desire to exalt the Lord Jesus. Reading this sweet and simple version of Spurgeon’s life should point children and adults to follow the same road, with their eyes and hearts fixed on the same glorious Redeemer.”—Jeremy Walker, pastor at Maidenbower Baptist Church

“Charles Haddon Spurgeon by Simonetta Carr is a beautiful book both in its design and content. With the skill of a master storyteller, Carr does the impossible; she takes the almost incomprehensible life of Spurgeon and creatively summarizes it for children. Carr's book is a delightful, substantive, and yet easy-to-read book. My nine-year-old daughter read it with me and we were both delighted. Charles Haddon Spurgeon will take its place in our large Spurgeon family library, and it will often be used with our children and grandchildren.”
—Ray Rhodes Jr., author of Yours, Till Heaven: The Untold Love Story of Charles and Susie Spurgeon
