Endorsements

“I have often said that the next generation is the greatest mission field available to us—and this is particularly true of our own children and grandchildren. And what better way is there to introduce biblical truths to children than through warm instruction, real-life illustrations, and captivating stories, both from Scripture and from everyday life? In this clear, simple, engaging, practical, and biblical devotional for children, Donna Kelderman speaks much like a grandmother would speak to her grandchildren. Here is an excellent resource to point the young ones in your life to Christ, who invites them to come to Him and to find everlasting salvation in Him for the rest of their lives (Matt. 19:14).”
Dr. Joel R. Beeke, Chancellor and Professor of Systematic Theology and Homiletics, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, and pastor of Heritage Reformed Congregation, Grand Rapids, Michigan
"Jesus is the Alpha and Omega. We are the light of the world. God is our rock. The Bible is full of word pictures that most of us find familiar. But do our children understand them? This book explains those pictures at a child’s level, describing their meaning and application simply and clearly. Together with its charming illustrations, it helps children explore and treasure the riches of Scripture."
Simonetta Carr, author of Herman Bavinck, speaker, homeschooling mother, host of Kids Talk Church History podcast, and regular contributor to Modern Reformation
"This warm-hearted devotional brings biblical truth to young minds and hearts through relatable stories and vivid pictures that capture their imagination. Each reading takes a verse, breaks it down in ways children understand, and shows them how God's Word speaks directly to their joys, challenges, and questions. This not only builds knowledge of God's word, but invites children to respond in obedience and faith as they discover the joy of surrendering their lives and hearts to Jesus Christ."
Kara Dedert, pastor’s wife, mother, contributor to TableTalk, cultural commentator at ThinkTwice
Light for My Path, by Donna Kelderman, is a beautiful devotional. The book consists of 31 well-written, easy to understand devotionals that explain Biblical word pictures and apply them to everyday living. In one of the first devotionals, we find Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” Kelderman uses the example of walking down a dark path in the woods to show the need for a light to guide you on the path. She applies this illustration to life itself, showing children why they need God’s Word to guide their everyday decisions and help them face the problems that come their way.
Each devotional is rooted in scripture and is applied to topics children face daily, such as standing up to bullies, disagreements with siblings, and fighting laziness. The devotionals end with a short paragraph to help children understand how to ask God for help in these situations. The book includes beautiful watercolor illustrations that draw the reader or listener in. The illustrations by Susanna Barnard are an excellent complement to each story.
While the book could be read by children on their own, it is ideal to read and discuss as a family. It is filled with godly instruction for children and pertinent reminders for adults. Light For My Path is an excellent addition to any family library.”

“Many children in the 5-11 age range will be able to read this simple devotional and enjoy the complementary watercolor illustrations. Although simply written, entries address some difficult subjects like persecuted Christians, divorced parents, and school bullies. Following a focus verse, the author often shares anecdotes or encourages imagination as she points readers to the truth of God’s word and applies it to their lives.”
Glenda Faye Mathesauthor of juvenile fiction, Little One Lost, and Finding Faithfulness: A Year of Reading and Reflecting on God’s Word
"It has often been stated by poet and sage that there is a beauty and power in simplicity. That maxim rings true here. This little devotional is filled with Scripture, stories, word pictures, and principles that will captivate the mind and reach the heart of any child. It is as though Donna Kelderman writes with a paint brush."
Paul David Washer, missionary, author, and founder of Heart Cry Missionary Society.
