Among the many great fruits of the Protestant Reformation were the glorious confessions and standards which grew from the fertile ground of Scripture-based faith. These are treasures beyond price, some written with the blood of martyrs, and continue to provide a rich heritage for the Reformed and Presbyterian churches. For two days only, Reformation Day 2025 and Saturday the 1st of November, we offer this richly diverse bundle of five confessions - some devotionals, some for study - a value of over $100, at the steeply discounted price of $50.

PRE-ORDER: OUTLINES FOR THE STUDY OF THE BELGIC CONFESSION

The excellence of Jelte Gerrit Feenstra’s work on the Belgic Confession was the major inspiration for Rev. Doug Barnes to learn Dutch. We are delighted to share the fruit of his labors, a resource invaluable to the study of this beloved confession, via this beautifully presented first-time-in print English translation.

THE SPANISH CONFESSION OF FAITH

La Confessión de la Fe Christiana, or The Spanish Confession of the Christian Faith (1560/61), written and presented by Casiodoro de Reina (1520-1594), and edited by Cipriano de Valera (1531-1602) is published here for the first time in a side-by-side bilingual format, consisting of a modernized Spanish rendering of the text and a modern English translation. This confession has been forgotten and neglected by most scholarship until only recently. It restores to the land of Spain, known for its ruthless anti-protestant persecution in the sixteenth-century, a crown jewel in its little-known protestant heritage.

CRISIS IN THE REFORMED CHURCHES: ESSAYS IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GREAT SYNOD OF DORT

This collection includes winning prose, meticulous scholarship, and above all heartfelt love for the Canons of Dort, arguably the most neglected of the Three Forms of Unity. Authored by many of the leading figures of the Reformed church in the latter half of the 20th century, we find here historical context to this towering testimony to Reformed truth, and many helps for the reader who desires to understand the significance of the Canons then and now.

GLORIFYING AND ENJOYING GOD: 52 DEVOTIONS THROUGH THE WESTMINSTER CATECHISM

For centuries, the Westminster Shorter Catechism has helped Christians young and old to know their “chief end.” Now, authors William Boekestein, Jonathan Landry Cruse, and Andrew J. Miller examine this venerable catechism and winsomely introduce a new generation to its powerful message. Dividing the catechism into 52 brief devotions, they explain and apply each question and answer in a year’s worth of Lord’s Days. This valuable new resource is great for individual and family use for all who desire to “glorify and enjoy God forever.”

Endorsements

“May a Catechism prove to be devotional material? Well, of course! As Paul says, truth is in order to godliness. And what better way to start the day than to read these devotionals on the Shorter Catechism. Boekestein, Cruse, and Miller have provided us with an outstanding primer to get the juices flowing and the heart engaged. Outstanding!”

—Derek W. H. Thomas, pastor, author, Ligonier Teaching Fellow

“The church in our own day urgently needs not only to confess what we believe but to announce what is true. Glorifying and Enjoying God helps us to do just this as it presents the objective claims of a classic catechism in a format perfected for weekly worship and study at home. Together read, recite, and rejoice in these truths!”

— Chad Van Dixhoorn, Professor of Church History and Theology, Reformed Theological Seminary Charlotte

“If you view doctrine as dry and connect catechism with tedious repetition, you need Glorifying and Enjoying God. Here three pastors explore the greatness of God and the glories of his grace, revealed in the Bible and captured concisely (and brilliantly!) in the Shorter Catechism. This is solid food for Christ-hungry hearts, rich nourishment for growing children of God.”

—Dennis E. Johnson, Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology, Westminster Seminary California
